Antique rosaries and relic for sale at Cauchy’s Antiques this week
Right from the start, we have been a big fan of a Facebook page called Antiques Lovers. Appreciating antiques is something most people are not taking the time to incorporate in their live. Publicity is pounding on us to buy. We are always presented with new made items, often nice, affordable but somewhat quickly made, of low quality and disposable. Let’s face it; companies have millions of copies of those products to sell. They have the money to make large scale promotions including financing, adverts, product placement, etc. Antiques are simply not marketable in a large scale like that.
By promoting the love, appreciation and the joy of owning antiques, the Antiques Lovers FB page has gone viral several times already. This is really rare in the antique world, especially for pages not made for a TV show or magazine. The message is also very profound although presented in a fun way: BE PROUD TO LOVE ANTIQUES … THEY ARE COOL. We totally agree. Antiques are part of our history. We should learn to protect them for future generations. Everyone should learn to appreciate them.
We are glad to present you their top 5 posts (At least, some very cool one; see the FB page to have more excellent quotes).

Our eBay History
The first items we ever sold on eBay were 3 Transformers G1 in original boxes. At the time, in our area, there was little interest for those toys. The surprise was great when the auction ended … we had received almost 1k for them. It was time to expand and quickly we were selling 100’s of items a month online. We always had rare and unusual items with an exceptional after sale service making our account one of the most prominent accounts.
The 1 Penny No Reserve Auctions
We have always made our auctions no reserve auctions and started almost everything at 1 penny, especially for rare and expensive items. Rest assured, that to offer such a variety of quality items, we paid and are still paying premium prices for good antiques and feel it’s the best way to attract buyers’ interest. They will only pay a fair market price. Sometimes, people are saying “you must be protecting your items”. Our answer to that is NEVER, shield bidding is against our policy. If someone follows our account for a while, they will see that once in a while, even if we don’t like the result, some auctions will eventually sell for the starting price of 1 penny. Customers are always surprised to receive those penny items. Whether our customers buy for a penny, a few dollars or for hundreds of dollars, they are treated with respect and get the same equal treatment.
